Licence and use Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 at a low price

Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 enables companies to organise their internal and external communication more efficiently. With a Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, emails, appointments and contacts can be managed company-wide, whether for 2, 20 or 2,000 employees.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2019

Functions of Exchange Server 2019 at a glance

One of the main functions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 is the management of emails. Incoming emails are automatically routed to the right recipients by the Exchange Server, with spam being efficiently filtered using effective filters and recognition algorithms. In addition, calendars and appointments can be managed in Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, both for individual users and for groups. This enables meetings to be planned quickly and efficiently, even with many participants. In addition to emails and appointments, you can also manage tasks, both your own and those delegated to other employees, which are then automatically monitored and tracked.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 is ideal for use with Microsoft Outlook, which is part of the Microsoft Office package. Furthermore, significant improvements in the area of data security have been realised in this version in order to protect sensitive data even better. Microsoft regularly distributes updates and patches to close security gaps that have been discovered. You should therefore install the cumulative update that you receive from Microsoft, such as Exchange Server 2019 CU13, directly after Microsoft Exchange Server 2019. The updates are cumulative, which means that with CU 14, for example, you will also receive the older updates for Exchange Server 2019 up to CU 13. Nevertheless, you should always download and install the latest version and avoid older versions such as Cumulative Update 12 for Exchange Server 2019.

What is the difference between a used Exchange Server 2019 licence and the purchase of a new licence?

In fact, there is only one difference, but it is a crucial one: with a pre-owned licence, you have the same range of functions, support entitlement and downgrade options as when you buy a new licence. However, you can save a lot of money with used licences for Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 and thus relieve your IT budget in the long term. Because at Soft & Cloud you get valid and absolutely legal licences for various Microsoft applications at up to 70 % lower prices than from the manufacturer.

Exchange Server 2019 in comparison

Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 is available in two editions: Exchange Server Standard 2019 is aimed at smaller companies and enables the integration of up to five databases. Larger and large companies with thousands of employees can use Microsoft Exchange Server Enterprise 2019, which allows up to 100 databases to be integrated. The two editions do not differ from each other in any other way, i.e. Both offer the same range of functions and the same level of security.

There are two options for licensing Exchange Server: You can licence the server by purchasing licences for Exchange Server 2019 Standard or Enterprise. You can also purchase access licences, so-called CALs (Client Access Licenses), which authorise either a user (User CAL) or a device (Device CAL) to access the Exchange Server. At Soft & Cloud you will find both used server licences and CALs (User CALs and Device CALs) for Exchange Server 2019. You can also find the Exchange Server 2019 Enterprise CAL as an add-on for both für Nutzer and Geräte in our online shop, which allows you to use extended functions (e.g. unified messaging, integrated archive functions, search in multiple mailboxes).

On-premise or cloud?

Microsoft has integrated Exchange Server into the Microsoft 365 subscription model, which means that Exchange 2019 is the last version that can be used on-premise (on your own hardware). Companies using an older version than 2019 should therefore consider whether they want to migrate to Exchange Server 2019 or switch to a subscription with permanent monthly costs.

Our licensing experts will be happy to advise you on these and any other questions you may have regarding Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 or other Microsoft products.

Exchange Server 2019 is a powerful server solution from Microsoft for email, calendars, contacts and tasks in companies. It enables the management of mailboxes, domain directories, backup, compliance functions and collaboration via Outlook and web access. Exchange Server 2019 is the latest on-premises version of the Exchange family, offering more stable performance, improved security, and better integration with modern on-premises and hybrid environments.

Microsoft has set the Exchange Server 2016 EOL (end of life) for 14 October 2025; from this date onwards, there will be no more patches or updates. However, this does not mean that the software will become unusable. Rather, it can be used for as long as desired with the latest Exchange Server 2019 CU.

Microsoft offers Exchange Server as Standard and Enterprise editions, which differ only in the maximum number of databases that can be integrated (Standard 5, Enterprise 100).

Exchange Server 2019 Standard is designed for smaller environments with a limited number of mailboxes and basic high availability, while Enterprise offers significantly more mailboxes, full DAG support and advanced storage and public folder features. Standard covers the common features, while Enterprise scales more and is suitable for larger organisations with higher compliance and scaling requirements.
